Security Overview & Standards

COMPAS has and will continue to put forth resources to design, implement, maintain and monitor the security and scalability of our infrastructure.

Features:

Data Center Overview:

COMPAS Technology utilizes a SAS 70 Type II data center within two locations. The infrastructure exists on two geographically separate locations for redundancy, both of which are automatically backed up to a separate site. Our data centers conduct ongoing audits, 24/7/365 monitoring and surveillance, on-site security staff, mantraps and strict access controls. Power systems feature multiple power feeds, UPS devices and backup generators ensure continuous operation.

Availability:

COMPAS provides 99.99% availability and will be accessible via the following web browsers: Internet Explore (IE), Safari (Apple), Firefox (Mozilla) and Chrome (Google).

Data Security on Transfer:

COMPAS utilizes a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with 128 bit encryption technology, protecting your information using both server authentication and data encryption. This ensures that your data is safe, secure, and available only to registered users in your organization.

User Password Policy Enforcement:

COMPAS will provide each customer’s user with a unique user name / password that must be entered each time a user logs in. For the highest level of password protection, we require passwords to be at least 8 characters long including a mix of letters and numbers. COMPAS possesses the ability to track user’s login / logout activities, what their IP address is when accessing COMPAS, and IP restriction. COMPAS administrators can customize each user’s access levels.

Security at the Application Layer:

All data and files uploaded to COMPAS are held within a private instance that the customer controls. Additionally, specific records, files, applications and reports can be made private from internal users. Unique, randomly-generated IDs are applied to all physical files when access is requested. To insure the highest level of security, each randomly generated link is set to expire so no single link can be reused. Indexing of files from outside sources is blocked, and all physical files are stored separately from the data for an added level of security, redundancy and scalability.

User-Based Access Controls:

COMPAS administrators can customize each user’s access levels by easily selecting which applications their users have access to within the product suite to include reports. Our role-based rights access allows our clients to tighten down security by user to ensure their intellectual property is secure from malicious internal activity.

Protection at the Network Level:

Servers reside behind a sophisticated firewall that selectively grants access to network resources. External penetration testing is performed for system security and validation. Multiple internet backbone connections provide routing redundancy and high performance connectivity. Furthermore, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) continuously monitors network traffic.
